Mr. Basile represents sureties, developers, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in a wide variety of matters, including on residential, commercial and industrial projects, whether public or private in nature.  His practice includes assisting with contract review and negotiations, transactional and litigation matters at project start-up, documenting claims and other issues as work is underway, as well as project closeouts and payment remedies, including pursuing payment through mechanic's liens, bond claims, negotiations, mediation and arbitration.

Mr. Basile is registered to serve as a civil mediator in the State of Indiana and can bring his experience in assisting clients through the mediation process to act either as an advocate at mediation or to serve as a neutral mediator to assist in resolving disputes without the expense and time consumption of trial.

As both school board counsel and outside legal counsel to various Indiana school boards, Mr. Basile provides advice and solutions in the field of education law, including on Indiana's new teacher evaluation and compensation laws, school board and corporation liability issues and construction and real estate matters.

Mr. Basile represents individuals and businesses in all areas of business law, from incorporation and start-up through dissolution and wind-down of the company.  Businesses routinely hire Mr. Basile to perform contract drafting and review, negotiate on their behalf, collect debts, resolve employment and labor disputes and assist in risk management and risk avoidance.  Businesses involved in disputes hire Mr. Basile to aggressively represent their interests in complex and large litigation as well as smaller and simpler matters.

About Ray Basile

The Basile Law Office routinely represents clients located not only in Indianapolis and Shelbyville, but also from throughout the Midwest and as far away as New York, Georgia and Florida.  Admitted to practice in all of the State and Federal courts in Indiana, the Basile Law Office can also serve the needs of out-of-state counsel in need of local or co-counsel representation in litigation filed in the courts of Indiana.

Ray Basile has been a practicing attorney in the State of Indiana since 1999 after graduating from the Indiana University School of Law.  When not assisting his clients with their important legal matters, Mr. Basile enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.  Since 2000, Mr. Basile has been a devoted coach and volunteer for Special Olympics Indiana and was given the 2002 Indy Sports Club Spirit of Sports Volunteer Award.  Mr. Basile is also a varsity high school girls volleyball coach for the Triton Central Tigers and Director of the Tiger Volleyball Club, devoting many of his evenings and weekends throughout the year to teaching the game of volleyball.
