Areas of Practice
Construction and Surety Law:
Mr. Basile represents sureties, developers, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in a wide variety of matters, including residential, commercial, and industrial projects, whether public or private in nature. His practice includes assisting with contract review and negotiations, transactional and litigation matters at project start-up, documenting claims and other issues as work is underway, as well as project closeouts and payment remedies, including pursuing payment through mechanic’s liens, bond claims, negotiations, mediation and arbitration.
Business Transactions, Employment Law and Litigation:
Mr. Basile represents individuals and businesses in all areas of business law, from incorporation and start-up through dissolution and wind-down of the company. Businesses routinely hire Mr. Basile to perform contract drafting and review, negotiate on their behalf, collect debts, resolve employment and labor disputes and assist in risk management and risk avoidance. Businesses involved in disputes hire Mr. Basile to aggressively represent their interests in complex and large litigation as well as smaller and simpler matters.
Education Law:
As current and former school board counsel and outside legal counsel to various Indiana school boards, Mr. Basile provides advice and solutions in the field of education law, including on Indiana's teacher evaluation and compensation laws, school board and corporation liability issues and construction and real estate matters.
Real Estate Transactions and Litigation:
Mr. Basile assists individual and business clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions including purchases, sales, leases and land contracts. This includes land use matters including zoning variances and PUDs. Mr. Basile also represents his clients in litigation and resolution of real estate disputes.
